About The Role

As a UX/UI Designer at Rocky Mountain Public Media, you will be responsible for designing and

improving the user experience and user interface of our digital products. You will collaborate

closely with brand leaders, digital content producers, developers, and other stakeholders to

ensure our products are both visually appealing and easy to use.


Key Responsibilities

  • Adhering to the brand leaders' vision and strategy, conduct user research to understand our existing and target audience's needs, preferences, and pain points.

  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user journeys, process flows and site maps to

  • effectively communicate interaction and design experiences.

  • Generate high-fidelity mockups and prototypes that epitomize how the digital experiences function and look. ·

  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to continuously improve the user experience.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the implementation of designs aligns with the user experience goals and the overall product strategies.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design.

ABOUT YOU

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION

  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio, preferably in a product-based environment.

  • Ability to discern brand objectives and requirements and translate these into digital experiences that put the user first.

  • Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered/human-centered design.

  • Familiarity with basic front-end development tech (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Understanding of accessibility guidelines (WCAG). · Strong collaboration and communication skills with stakeholders and developers/engineers.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cross-functional teams.

  • Must be innovative, creative and willing to try new ideas.

  • Must be able to build and maintain relationships both inside and outside of RMPM to cocreate exciting new content while fostering an environment for existing work to thrive and innovate.

  • Must possess exceptional time management, decision making and organizational skills.

Work Environment

This position works within a hybrid model shifting between in office, studio, editing, and/or field environments. This position must be able to work a flexible schedule with occasionally long hours including some evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel throughout the state and beyond, on occasion.
