Therapeutic Speech Language Pathologist

SUMMARY

THIS IS A TEMPROARY POSITION THAT IS VIRTUALLY BASED. Employment dates run from August 15th 2024 through November of 2024.

Under the supervision of the Director of Therapy Relief at Hope, the Speech & Language Pathologist provides and oversees speech/language therapy treatments in a school setting to meet student IEP goals.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assess communication skills and implement speech and language treatment based on established goals, in individual or group settings.
  • Serve, communicate, and consult as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain detailed records and compile written progress reports and treatment plans as needed.
  • Evaluate need and type of augmentative communication devices and provide guidance and training to parents/guardians, teachers, and/or caretakers on the use of needed devices.
  • Participate in ongoing treatment meetings, as well as staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Master’s degree from approved school of hearing and speech-language pathology.
  • Illinois license in speech-language pathology.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications.
