This position plays a crucial role in managing one of the most critical aspects of our company – ensuring that our employees are compensated promptly, accurately, and in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:
  • Check monthly timesheet and bonus input into the system
  • Prepare and input payroll data for semi-monthly payrolls in accurate and timely manner; prepare reports and check requests for all applicable payments associated with payrolls; update payroll check register
  • Prepare monthly GL spreadsheet and prepare monthly employee roster and reports
  • Provide customer service to employees related to payroll
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for payroll and benefit accounts
  • Reconcile quarterly and annual tax filings and reports following agency filing requirements
  • Review semi-annual performance bonus payments and process payments in ADP
  • Work on annual budgets for labor costs; update & maintain budget salary spreadsheet
  • Update and maintain the Performance Management Raise spreadsheets
    Administer and maintain ADP database
  • Produce & provide reports for various company projects from ADP, to include annual Total Pay Statements, and people data analytics
  • Help with benefit plan audits such as 401k, Workers Comp, etc.
Requirements of the Payroll Specialist:
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, preferred
    3+ years of payroll and general ledger reconciliation experience
  • ADP Workforce now experience, nice to have
    Experience with payroll regulations to include FLSA and tax reporting
  • Highly organized with strong and thorough written and verbal communication skills
  • Timely response skills needed to respond to employees
  • Proficient with online benefit databases, use of Excel spreadsheets required
