Position

  • Nuclear Medicine Technician (Per Diem)


Qualifications  

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)


Main Responsibilities

  • Test preparation: Interview patients, obtain medical history, verify patient consent paperwork, conduct patient teaching proficiently operate radiographic equipment
  • Steup, monitor, and interpret 12 lead EKG stress tests
  • Assess patient BP, pulse, respirations, lungs, and establish Peripheral Intravenous (IV) access  
  • Prepare and administer pharmacological stress agent medications with accurate dose calculations while abiding by appropriate practice guidelines and safety regulations
  • Apply ACLS measures to patients when directed by the assigned physician
  • Review Nuclear Medicine images, while monitoring accuracy, and ensuring appropriate collaboration and communication with the physicians, especially when sending test readings
  • Report to the practice’s management team, physicians and the Nuclear Technician Lead for additional tasks including the training of new and existing employees
  • Ability to complete daily paperwork, while utilizing a fax and copy machines
  • Abide by and stay up to date with best practices and updated compliance and safety regulations in a Cardiology setting with nuclear machinery
  • Maintain crash cart and room supply inventory through monthly inventory reports while ordering, receiving and coordinating compliant storage and disposal of expired non-radioactive medications (if needed)
  • Navigate to maintain crediting and annual registration renewals of the practice (if needed)
  • Coordinate scheduled equipment maintenance, repairs, and calibrations (if needed)

 

Are A Plus

  • Prior experience in an emergency care or cardiac setting
  • California Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiology Technology (JRCERT)
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT.N)
  • Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
  • Computed Tomography (ARRT. CT)
  • Radiation Safety (NMTCB, (RS))
