Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Hollywood Presbyterian. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear medicine procedures and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including operation of equipment for PLANAR and SPECT studies.
  • Handle, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radio pharmaceuticals accurately, adhering to radiation safety practices.
  • Inject radio pharmaceuticals intravenously using aseptic techniques, ensuring no extravagation or contamination.
  • Utilize correct patient positioning and imaging parameters for each study.
  • Provide excellent patient care during procedures, including IVs, oxygen, and other necessary interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and complete department records and patient documentation.
  • Assess image quality and repeat studies as necessary, with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare and administer therapeutic radio pharmaceuticals to patients under the direct supervision of a radiologist.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly equipment control and documentation.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors and service personnel immediately.
  • Participate in Imaging Service Process Improvement, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and MQSA activities as required.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine training program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work in a union environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two years of Nuclear Medicine Tech experience is highly desirable.
Required Certifications
  • Current Los Angeles County Fire Card (within 30 days of employment).
  • State of California certification (CNMT) in Nuclear Medicine.
  • BLS Card.
