POSITION OVERVIEW

NBME is seeking to hire a level II Product Manager for our organization. This person will be responsible for driving the success of one or more products and leading cross-functional teams responsible for developing, improving, and delivering the product(s). The ideal candidate will have direct accountability for identifying market opportunities and customer needs, developing the product(s) roadmap, and planning and executing the operational planning, production, and projects that directly contribute to the success of the product(s).

This role is primarily remote, requiring minimal onsite attendance except for quarterly change of pace days, which are mandatory for all employees in the organization. While this role can be designated as remote, you are offered the flexibility to select if you prefer to work primarily remotely, hybrid, or onsite. We're open to considering candidates within 90 miles of our office location in Philadelphia, PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Control the vision, strategy, and roadmap for one or more products in an effort to deliver value to the customer and align with broader NBME strategy.
  • Manage and execute product life cycle/strategy, technical, and marketing aspects of the product(s), which includes: discovery and validation of market problems; bringing the voice of the customer into product strategy; exploration of new market opportunities; definition and sizing of market segments; business plan creation; pricing; product positioning; go-to-market planning; win/loss analysis; distribution strategy; product profitability and sales analysis.
  • Continually monitor financial, reputational, and user-satisfaction "health" of product(s), reports findings, and develop recommendations to make appropriate strategic and tactical adjustments based on evidence.
  • Define market requirements, package features into product plans, and identifies risks/benefits/mitigation strategies.
  • Develops recommendations for product(s) based on data analysis, competitive climate, understanding of NBME strategy, and informed business needs.
  • Interacts with agile teams, cross-functional teams, development leads, product architects, and key customers
  • Gather requirements from existing and potential customers, write market requirements documents or product backlogs, and monitor the implementation of each product project, maintaining the product roadmap and status dashboard.
  • Analyzes the competitive landscape; works cross-functionally to monitor and incorporate industry innovations.
  • Serves as the main liaison on the assigned product(s) between internal and external stakeholders. Coordinates efforts of cross-functional teams to align and deliver operational planning and production that meet customer and product roadmap requirements.
  • Develops, interprets, and communicates policies and practices to external stakeholders; addresses/resolves routine issues, problems, and concerns.
  • Represents assigned product(s) internally and externally to product-associated groups and organizations. Develops and delivers presentations, Webinars, and reports to NBME governance, the Executive Team, and external groups about products and activities.
  • Participates in the creation of market collateral to support outreach, converting technical positioning into key market messages.
  • Launches product(s) onto the market: Assist with defining buyer personas and determining market messages; participates in the creation of marketing plans; collaboratively evaluate the effectiveness of product marketing programs; maintains product launch plans.
  • Delivers thought-leader content via events and other outlets; creates standard presentations and demo scripts; aligns sales and outreach tools.
  • Provide account support and manage client accounts as needed.
  • Develop RFPs and contracts and execute them with guidance from other Product Management staff.
  • Contribute to the creation and revision of policies, practices, and quality control measures. Participates in research initiatives and special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Abilities

  • 2 to 3 or more years of relevant experience in program/product management required.
  • Proven track record of launching product(s) or product releases; leading and organizing market research/pilot/testing efforts; coordinating Agile experiences.
  • Strategic and technical Product Management experience, preferably in healthcare, medical education and/or assessment.
  • Strong team orientation, project management and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within diverse cross-functional groups and diverse external stakeholder groups.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict management skills; commitment to DEI. Excellent communication and analytical skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and secure materials appropriately.
  • Ability to succeed in role with some supervisory guidance.
  • Proficient with project planning software and budget management.
  • Broad knowledge base in several aspects of testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring projects to the implementation stage.

Experience

  • 5 or more years

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree; required
  • Pragmatic Marketing Certification or similar; preferred
