  • The Public Relations Director at KVC Health Systems develops strategic communication plans to enhance public image, promote services, address issues, and build stakeholder relationships. They lead PR strategies aligned with organizational goals, collaborating with media and playing a key role in overall communication strategy within the Marketing & Communication team.

Schedule:

  • Hybrid. This role offers a flexible schedule primarily remote, with no set days required in the office each week. It will include in-office attendance for meetings, media engagements, and project-related activities, as well as travel to various KVC locations as necessary.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or another related field preferred

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in public relations, communications or a related field

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Valid Auto Insurance
  • At least 21 years old

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, adept at cultivating relationships with media professionals.
  • Exceptional writing, proofreading, and verbal communication abilities, from press releases to public speaking, tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Proven success in developing and executing PR strategies and campaigns.
  • Experience in securing media coverage and handling issues management.
  • Effective project management skills, detail-oriented, and organized for handling complex projects.
  • Proficient in utilizing social media platforms for PR purposes.
  • Ability to analyze and measure PR campaign effectiveness using diverse metrics and tools.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with diverse media professionals in key target areas.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media statements, and other communications.
  • Coordinate interviews and earned media opportunities.
  • Respond to reporters and media on behalf of the organization.
  • Develop and execute strategic PR plans aligned with business goals.
  • Manage multiple projects with varied needs, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Become a communications expert in mental health treatment and child welfare.
  • Advise on media relations, interview prep, and public speaking.
  • Guide social media strategies for PR engagements.
  • Measure and report PR effectiveness and ROI.
  • Assist in creating content calendars for owned properties.
  • Produce or source print collateral and graphics as needed.
  • Travel up to 25% for in-person engagement and meetings.
