The New Canaan YMCA is looking for part-time instructors in our preschool and youth gymnastics programs.

Our emphasis is on fun, safety and the fundamentals of gymnastics and movement. Candidates should have experience working with children and/or gymnastics experience (either as a participant or as an instructor)

Instructors will:

  • possess great class management skills - being patient, kind, energetic, responsive and engaging
  • have ability to create and adapt lesson plans for varying ages and ability
  • comfort with classes such as Parent/Child (ages 1 to 3), as well as child-only (ages 3 to 5, and ages 6 to 9)
  • recognize safety concerns regarding use of the equipment
  • be reliable and work independently
  • enjoy being silly, singing songs, and communicate clearly in ways that children and parents will all respond.
