Robotics Instructor

NY Enrichment Group is seeking a skilled Robotics Instructor to join our team. As a Robotics Instructor, you will develop and lead hands-on LEGO robotics projects for middle school youth. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and engaging learning environment, where students can develop leadership and conflict-resolution skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robotics curriculum and lesson plans for each session.
• Lead classes that follow a social group work model, promoting teamwork and collaboration among students.
• Manage a classroom of 15-20 students, ensuring a positive and respectful learning environment.
• Prepare for classes by setting up materials and equipment, and clean up afterwards, leaving the location in the same condition as found.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, and scholars.
• Follow up with the NYEG Director of Operations after classes.
• Maintain a positive, healthy, safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.

Requirements:

• Highly responsible, reliable, punctual, flexible, outspoken, honest, self-motivated, and work with integrity.
• Comfortable working with children and independently leading a class of students.
• Clear communication skills, a positive attitude, and effective classroom management skills.
• Relevant performance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least 2 years of experience working with youth.
• Teaching experience and classroom management skills.
• A knowledge of and willingness to teach robotics.
