Evergreen Recovery is preparing to open our drug and alcohol, Detox and Residential Facility


In preparation for our opening we are looking to hire a cook to make nutritious and delicious meals for our clients

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: (Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Competencies, and Minimum Qualifications)

  1. Must be physically and mentally able to assist in an emergency; This is verified by passing a history and physical.
  2. Must have get a TB screen, Health Screening, CPR First Aid Certificate before starting, and must have a Food Handlers Card/Servsafe Certification.


POSITION SUMMARY: (Duties & Responsibilities)


Food Preparation and Service:

  1. Prepare meals, including modified and therapeutic food items, in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
  2. Responsible to prepare lunch and dinner weekdays and coordinate with weekend chef for weekend meals.
  3. Responsible to serve detox menu, shakes/juices and special menu items
  4. Assure special dietary needs are being considered during the service of meals to clients, utilizing the nutritional form.
  5. Assists with stocking and restocking of shelves
  6. Food in both fridges and freezers must be properly labeled with expiration dates
  7. Keep refrigerator, cupboards clean and organized; expired goods need to be recorded and disposed of in the proper manner
  8. Adheres to the licensing and accreditation Policies and Procedures
  9. Make sure all plates and cooking utensils are clean and safe to use.
  10. Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all
  11. Maintain daily Food/Temperature logs, per licensing standards
  12. Interacts with food and beverage management to assure that food production consistently exceeds the expectations of clients and guests.    
  13. Must be flexible, adaptable, receptive to feedback and willing to make improvements
  14. Provides training and professional development opportunities for all kitchen staff.
  15. Support safe work habits and a safe working environment at all times.
  16. Perform other duties as directed.


Customer Service:

  • Consistently communicates in a positive and professional manner with staff members, clients and visitors.
  • Provides high end hospitality and customer service to clients, staff and all visitors.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as calm environment throughout the department.
  • Make sure all meals/snacks are served on time, promptly per the schedule
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent client care information.
  • Review requests, comments and/or complaints and make necessary improvements.
