Civil Infrastructure Intern

Summary:

The Infrastructure Intern is part of the department’s internship outreach to the community, selecting a candidate currently enrolled in college level courses with a concentration in the construction, engineering or asset management field.

The intern position is not complex in nature, rather exposed to several facets of the Infrastructure Department which allows the incumbent insight into daily operations.

Interns are assigned a variety of projects that have a direct benefit to the department and Company. The internship is a temporary paid position which will exist during the summer.

• Personal work relationships are with the immediate office staff, manager, the public, and all other ITR departments. The work requires a professional approach to all employee situations while ensuring all information is kept strictly confidential.

• Performs all tasks safely, complies with all internal and external safety requirements, supports ITRCC safety culture, attends all safety trainings and completes all compliance trainings as required by ITRCC.

• Uphold ITRCC’s core values: Customer Service, Respect, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork (CREST).
• Intern is assigned a variety of tasks that expose him/her to engineering, construction, and asset management operations. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
  1. Asset Management including data analysis and collection in the field
  2. Construction Inspection and Tracking
• Assist with research, presentations, and reports
• Assigned specific projects as required by the Infrastructure Manager for the betterment of the Company
• Performs related work as required

• Enrolled in college level courses with a concentration in engineering or construction management
• Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to prepare and compose correspondence and reports, and to review work for approval and signature of supervisors
• Ability to maintain personal composure and tactfully handle difficult situations in a professional manner
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

• This position requires: (Frequent est. 5 hrs per shift)
