Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for an Executive Sous Chef for a restaurant in Rhode Island who has a passion for cooking, ingredients, and technique. This position is perfect for a motivated culinarian, with high volume experience, who is looking to grow their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily management of the kitchen, coordinating all activities and ensuring seamless service, including private dining events.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all pre-prepared ingredients (mise en place) meet high standards before serving.
  • Maintain a high-quality guest experience by closely monitoring and guiding employees in food preparation and cooking.
  • Foster growth and development of back-of-house staff and kitchen supervisors, providing ongoing training and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with inventory and purchasing teams to manage storage and ensure efficient stock management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience as an Executive Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a full-service establishment is required
  • A Culinary Arts degree is preferred, but we will hire candidates with exceptional experience.
  • Must have a flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
  • Must be a US citizen

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage staff at all levels
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds
  • Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships
