We are seeking an experienced Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join our team, focusing on search and discovery initiatives to enhance our users' experience.


As a Senior Machine Learning Scientist specializing in Search and Discovery, you will be at the forefront of developing and optimizing machine learning models that drive our search and discovery features. Your work will be instrumental in improving the relevance, efficiency, and personalization of search and recommendations results, ensuring that job seekers find the best matches quickly and effortlessly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize machine learning models for search ranking, relevance, and discovery features.
  • Research and implement advanced algorithms for search, recommendation, and personalization.
  • Analyze large-scale datasets to extract insights and inform model development.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and MLOps to build and maintain scalable data pipelines that feed into ML models.
  • Work closely with product teams to understand user behavior and improve search and discovery outcomes.
  • Conduct A/B testing and experimentations to validate model improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research in search and recommendation systems and apply relevant findings.
  • Implement real-time personalization algorithms and ensure the responsiveness and accuracy of results.
  • Optimize the entire ML lifecycle, from data collection and feature engineering to model deployment and monitoring.
  • Mentor junior scientists and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in machine learning
  • Strong background in machine learning algorithms, especially in search and recommendation systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with experience in ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Deep understanding of search technologies, such as Elasticsearch, Solr, or vector databases and their integration with ML models.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with A/B testing and experimental design.
  • Ability to translate complex data and model insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the job search or recruitment industry.
  • Previous applied work with natural language processing (NLP) techniques for search relevance and query understanding.
  • Previous applied work in large scale recommender systems and multi-objective optimizations
  • Experience with online learning systems and real-time data processing.
  • Published work in top-tier ML or data science conferences such as SIGIR, RecSys, KDD, NeurIPS, WWW, or similar.
