We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Special Education Long Term Substitute to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of special education law and regulations, as well as a proven track record of success in teaching students with disabilities. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), providing instruction in all academic areas, and collaborating with parents and other school staff to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities
  • Provide instruction in all academic areas, including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies
  • Collaborate with parents and other school staff to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Monitor student behavior and implement appropriate interventions
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay up-to-date on best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field
  • Special Education Certificate required
  • Experience teaching students with disabilities at all grade levels is preferred
  • Strong understanding of special education law and regulations
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Ability to provide instruction in all academic areas
  • Ability to monitor student behavior and implement appropriate interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with parents and other school staff

Hours and Pay

  • Monday - Friday (with every other Friday OFF) 
  • Hourly rate: $22 - $28
