Position Overview: We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Barista/Cashier to join our team in New York City. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks and other beverages, as well as handling cashier duties. This role requires excellent customer service skills, a passion for coffee, and the ability to manage both barista and cashier responsibilities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Barista Duties:
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages according to company recipes and customer preferences.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment with proficiency and care.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with customers and providing recommendations on beverages and pastries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and work area.
Cashier Duties:
- Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and debit payments.
- Handle customer purchases, returns, and exchanges following company policies.
- Issue receipts, manage cash drawer, and reconcile transactions at the end of shifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their visit.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a professional manner.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by delivering friendly and efficient service.
Operational Support:
- Assist with restocking supplies and maintaining inventory levels for beverages, pastries, and other items.
- Help with store opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and organizing the store.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company standards and best practices.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in Hospitality or Barista training is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Barista, Cashier, or in a similar customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate coffee equipment and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
