Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join its flagship contract to support a new task order.

The ideal candidate will be experienced with DevOps tools/technologies, working in a Linux environment, databases such as MySQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL, and coding languages such as Python and Java for supporting the automation, monitoring, and performance tuning of servers/software related to an earthquake early warning system.

The candidate will report to the Project Manager and provide weekly reports on project status/issues/concerns and mitigation strategies.

Required Skills & Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required
  • 6-8 years of experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, JSON, YAML) and Linux OS Experience
  • Experience with Docker/Containers and Ansible configuration management tools
  • A solid grasp of math, physics, or geophysics, since the job is for geophysical applications.
  • Experienced with using relational databases: MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
  • Experience in source code management tools such as GitLab
  • Ability to learn new programming languages as needed.
  • Must be US Citizen or Authorized to Work in the United States.
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Python and Java experience, that is enough to read, understand a pre-existing code base, and develop new code.
  • Development IDE - Visual Studio or Eclipse
