Job Overview

TechForcePros is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workday Technical Analyst. In this role, you will leverage your deep understanding of Workday to optimize HRIS functionality and enhance the overall user experience. You will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that align with our business objectives, managing complex projects, and providing expert-level support in system configuration, integration, and reporting.

As a Senior Workday Technical Analyst, you will play a critical role in advancing our HR technology strategy, ensuring that our Workday system is optimized to meet the evolving needs of the business. This position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for HR technology and a strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities1. Technology Proficiency and System Optimization
  • Expert Analysis: Leverage a deep, analytical understanding of Workday's HRIS functionality, nuances, and system behaviors to optimize user experience and system performance. Utilize advanced knowledge of Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Compensation, Learning, and Performance, to drive improvements and streamline processes.
  • System Enhancements: Proactively identify opportunities for system enhancements and optimizations, ensuring alignment with best practices in infrastructure, workflows, and automation. Stay up-to-date with Workday updates and releases, assessing the impact on current configurations and advising on necessary adjustments.
2. Solution Design and Implementation
  • Client Assessments: Lead in-depth client assessments to understand business needs, pain points, and objectives. Conduct comprehensive gap analyses and gather business requirements to develop actionable project plans that address the unique needs of the organization.
  • Solution Architecture: Design and propose scalable, practical solutions that align with business parameters such as culture, cost, timeline, and scope. Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Project Management: Serve as the Implementation Project Manager, overseeing all aspects of Workday implementation projects, including planning, execution, and delivery. Manage project workstreams, deliverables, and action items, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Develop strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance and advocacy throughout the implementation process.
3. Configuration and Integration
  • Hands-On Configuration: Act as the primary hands-on operator within the solutions design team. Configure and troubleshoot Workday modules, ensuring system integrity and minimizing the need for third-party vendors. Quickly analyze and resolve system errors and exceptions, driving faster organizational response and reducing costs.
  • Integration Efforts: Lead integration efforts between Workday and other systems, including HRIS, ERP, and accounting systems. Assess technical requirements, perform hands-on configuration, and conduct in-depth field analysis to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability. Collaborate with internal and external teams to provide advanced integration support and drive successful outcomes.
4. Workforce Management
  • Time and Attendance: Configure and maintain timekeeping systems, time clocks, and scheduling tools within Workday. Manage leave management, vacation and sick accrual, and ensure compliance with state-by-state regulations. Develop and configure HR transactional events, system XML forms, and mobile applications to enhance workforce management capabilities.
  • Compliance and Automation: Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations, implementing automation and workflows to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention. Monitor system performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain compliance and optimize efficiency.
5. Analytics and Reporting
  • Data Management: Establish and maintain a comprehensive reports library within Workday, promoting data integrity and conducting frequent audits to ensure accuracy. Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to analyze large datasets, translating data into actionable insights and making recommendations to management.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Develop and deliver advanced reports and dashboards, providing key stakeholders with timely and accurate information to support decision-making. Utilize Workday's reporting and analytics tools to create custom reports, monitor system performance, and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
6. Compensation, Learning, and Performance
  • Compensation Management: Configure all performance, sales bonus, and merit plans within Workday, providing guidance on required field elements and ensuring smooth integration with performance management processes. Collaborate with HR and finance teams to design and implement compensation strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Learning and Development: Configure learning plans, calendars, and content within Workday, ensuring alignment with organizational learning and development goals. Support the implementation of learning initiatives, including course creation, content management, and user engagement.
7. General Ledger and Financial Systems Integration
  • Financial Systems Expertise: Work closely with finance teams to configure and maintain the general ledger within Workday, ensuring accurate account mapping and integration with ERP and accounting systems. Conduct regular audits and reviews of cost centers, direct/indirect labor, and other financial data to ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Develop and maintain ad hoc reports to support financial analysis and decision-making. Provide ongoing support to finance teams, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across systems.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Workday certifications in relevant modules are highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Workday Technical Analyst or similar role, with a strong focus on HRIS, system configuration, integration, and project management. Proven experience in designing and implementing Workday solutions, with a deep understanding of Workday's architecture, functionality, and best practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Workday modules such as HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Compensation, Learning, and Performance. Strong technical skills in system configuration, integration, and reporting, with a deep understanding of Workday's security features, business processes, and reporting tools.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing complex Workday implementation projects, with a strong focus on stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights. Experience with data management, reporting, and analytics, with a focus on promoting data integrity and ensuring accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, and provide guidance and advocacy throughout the implementation process.
