Job Title: CNC Applications Engineer


Leading Edge Hydraulics (LEH), an ISO 9000 Registered company based in Rockford, IL since 1965, is seeking skilled CNC Applications Engineer to join our team as a CNC Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and controlling part family control plans, programming, fixturing, gaging, drawings and even automation methods such as robotics and vision systems to produce consistent quality products as efficiently as possible.

LEH is always striving for World Class manufacturing methods with a focus on Continuous Improvement (CI) via 6M/Ishikawa or Fishbone Root Cause methodology.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of part family control plans, programs, fixturing, and methods to produce consistent quality products as efficiently as possible.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of the manufacturing processes are optimized for quality and efficiency.
  • Continuously improve processes and procedures to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CNC programming and machining.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to ensure that products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in CNC programming and machining technologies.
  • Train & develop employees on most effective setup and operational methodologies.
  • Assist in Development of training and testing curriculum to help in growth and development.
  • Follow all safety procedures in performing duties and operating equipment.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the work area (5S).

Requirements:

Education Minimums

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field / Min 2 Years Experience in CAD/CAM CNC Programming & Setups - OR -
  • Associates Degree Min 3 years of experience in CAD/CAM CNC Programming & Setups - OR -
  • High School Diploma Min 5 years of experience in CAD/CAM CNC Programming & Setups.


  • Strong Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (Preferably CREO/Fusion360 or Solutionware currently).
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages and G-code. (Preferably Haas Controls Currently)
  • Strong knowledge of Tooling & Offsets.
  • Experience with part family control plans, work holding, gaging and fixturing. (Mitutoyo Measurlink System)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Very Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Desire to work with / learn additive manufacturing. (Currently BambuLabs Carbon X1 - FDM Polymer Printing)
  • Desire to work with /learn future Cobot applications
