POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Restaurant Chef will oversee the culinary operations of our Main Inn restaurant while performing various functions that ensure meals are prepared and presented to quests satisfactorily.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees and participates in all aspects of the culinary operation, including menu development, food purchasing (Comparative pricing), preparation, and presentation.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • Manage the kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor food and labor costs to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met and exceeded.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Stay current with culinary trends and industry best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a high-volume, fine-dining restaurant
  • Proven experience as Restaurant Lead Chef or similar role
  • Strong culinary background, with a focus on creating exceptional cuisine.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Chef pants
  • Chef jacket, hat
  • Non-skid shoes/sneakers

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift to 50 pounds.
