Role: Scrum Master with Technical Background

Contract: W2, 1099

Location: Bethesda, MD 20814 (2 days Hybrid a week)/ Need locals from the DMV area

As a Scrum Master with a technical background, your role would involve facilitating the Agile development process within the organization, specifically within teams working on technical projects, software, or digital products. Here's a detailed breakdown of your responsibilities:

  • You'll be responsible for organizing and facilitating key Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective meetings. This includes ensuring that these meetings are effective, time-boxed, and focused on achieving their objectives.
  • You'll guide and support the development teams in adopting Agile principles and practices effectively. This involves coaching team members on Scrum methodologies, Agile best practices, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Your role is to identify and remove any obstacles or impediments that hinder the team's progress. This could involve addressing issues related to resources, dependencies, communication, or any other factors that impact the team's productivity.
  • Collaborate with product owners to ensure that the product backlog is groomed, prioritized, and refined appropriately. Help the team understand and estimate backlog items and ensure that they have a clear understanding of the product vision and goals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and open communication within the team and across different stakeholders. Encourage constructive dialogue, feedback exchange, and knowledge sharing to improve team dynamics and alignment.
  • Keep track of the team's progress towards sprint goals and overall project objectives. Use Agile metrics and tools to monitor performance, identify trends, and address any deviations from the plan in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in retrospectives to reflect on the team's performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and quality continuously.
  • Lead by example and embody the principles of servant leadership. Support the team's self-organization, empowerment, and accountability while serving their needs and facilitating their success.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends, developments, and best practices in Agile methodologies, Scrum framework, and related technical domains. Share knowledge and insights with the team to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, product owners, and other teams, to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and facilitate effective collaboration towards achieving business objectives.
