Job DescriptionJob Description

Role and Responsibilities

Provide on-going engineering support to the production facility. Required to produce CNC programs, setup sheets and inspection data along with tooling solutions to convert customer specifications, drawings, and models into CNC machined parts.

Key duties/responsibilities of Programming Engineer, including, but not limited to:

  • Review 3D solid models and/or part prints to determine programming needs.

  • Providing single and multi-axis CNC Programming Resource in Mastercam, Cam Link/Mazatrol, in-addition to any other software used to program machines within GPR Co.

  • Create and maintain all documentation relating to CNCmachining processes including – Set-up sheets, CNC Codeand any necessary operation sketches.

  • Set up and prove out programs at the machine. Manually edit programs using M & G codes @ the machine.

  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

  • Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a certificate in CNC programming from a technical college.
  • Applicants must have at least five years working as a CNC programmer or manufacturing-based mechanical engineer.

Language Skills

Ability to understand and speak English. Must be able to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals and technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

**Reasoning Ability **

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
