Coblentz Patch Duffy & Bass LLP, a dynamic, mid-sized law firm located in the heart of San Francisco's financial district, is seeking a full-time Business Development and Marketing Coordinator to join the team in supporting both Firm-wide and practice group initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

The general requirements for the performance of this position are detailed below. The content is not intended to be an exhaustive statement of the job's functions, responsibilities or requirements, but rather a general overview.

The Business Development and Marketing Coordinator reports directly to the Business Development and Marketing Director and works closely with all members of the marketing team as well as across administrative teams. This position provides support for activities aligned with the Firm’s strategic goals and initiatives, including those related to business development, materials and collateral, communications, CRM, and events.

Marketing and Practice Group Support – Work with the Business Development and Marketing Director to execute the marketing and business development elements of the Firm Strategic Plan. Provide marketing, business development and communications support to the full marketing team and to attorneys at the Firm. Support the execution of client development events, presentations and other client-facing business development activities and presentation of materials and brochures.

Handle day-to-day coordination of the Firm’s marketing activities, ensuring up-to-date collateral materials. Coordinate research, development of marketing materials, and organize meeting agendas and follow-up notes.

Business Development – Assist in managing all components of pitch materials. Coordinate pitch materials, draft responses to RFPs and other custom proposals, and assist with the development of business development presentations. Assist in management of the Firm's client relationship database (CRM), working with outside vendor support.

Events and Sponsorships - Provide overall support in connection with charitable contributions and sponsorships, dinners, and other events that require tracking of participants and event registrations. Manage distribution of sporting and event tickets. Provide event support for in- office and offsite events, as needed.

Communications – Assist in the development of the Firm’s marketing and client communications programs including graphic design (within the structure of pre-existing templates), collateral materials, and website content. Coordinate social media (LinkedIn) posts.

Website – Under the direction of the Director of Business Development and Marketing, assist with the coordination of website updates.

Legal Directories & Survey Submissions – Assist the Marketing team with ranking and award submissions, including drafting submissions, coordinating follow-up, and monitoring and reporting on results as needed.

Vendors and consultants - Assist the Marketing team in the coordination and selection of gifts, new-hire staff/partner gift programs, and promotional leave-behinds.

Knowledge and Abilities Required

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to write content that can be published internally and externally. Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to present information and communicate with poise and professionalism, in one-on-one and small group situations, with partners, associates and outside resources. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence action and results.
  • Possess judgment to select appropriate marketing-related material to post to Intranet and website.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Experience with complex subject matter is an asset.
  • Ability to perform duties under varying degrees of mental strain when working on a deadline or when the volume of required duties and responsibilities is high.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development.

Computer Skills/ Software Proficiency Required

Ability to work with current technologies and software, and the capability to upskill and learn new technologies and software as needed.

  • Intermediate level of ability with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Intermediate level of ability with Adobe Acrobat.
  • Intermediate level of ability with Adobe InDesign.
  • Knowledge of ContactEase, Interaction or other law Firm CRM software.
  • Knowledge of Vuture, HubSpot, or similar marketing technology platforms.

Experience and Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, communications, marketing, public relations or a similar field, or an equivalent combination of an Associate’s degree and related work experience will be accepted.
  • At least three years’ experience in a marketing/ business development-related field, preferably in a law firm or professional services organization.

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid role and will require in-office presence from the Firm’s San Francisco office two to three days each week, and at other times as required for execution of events.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit for long periods of time, come and go from workspace repeatedly throughout the day, use a computer and phone, talk, listen, read and understand documents, and move and lift up to 10 pounds.
