Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe’re in search of a housekeeper to ensure guest satisfaction during their stay with us. Responsibilities include cleaning guest rooms, restrooms, and common areas, making beds, doing laundry, ironing sheets, and other general cleaning duties as assigned. The ideal candidate is a cleaning enthusiast, a team-player, and a highly-organized professional.Compensation:

$15 - $17 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Write down what rooms were cleaned, report lost and found items and any damage or repairs needed
  • Maintain common spaces including the hotel lobby, corridors, and public restrooms
  • Vacuum, mop, make beds, dust and polish furniture, stock rooms with toiletries, and do laundry as needed
  • Ensure guest rooms are clean and tidy according to our hotel’s standards before guests arrive
  • Respond to general inquiries from guests
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years as a professional housekeeper or similar position
  • Must have graduated high school or received an equivalent certification
  • Possesses a strong work ethic with exemplary organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Good understanding of cleaning techniques and products

Ocean Gate Resort is a 65-room coastal Maine resort on Southport Island, less than 10 minutes from downtown Boothbay Harbor. Nestled among 33 acres of wooded pine trees and ocean-view vistas, the resort is a modern take on the classic Maine camp experience and features a full array of recreational amenities including an outdoor heated pool, canoes, and kayaks launched from our private dock, miniature golf course, fire pit with Adirondack chairs, bikes to explore the area, and tennis and basketball courts. Almost all of our guestrooms feature ocean views, while most offer private balconies or decks.
