JOB SUMMARY:

The Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of burners, and play a crucial role in ensuring industrial processes are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and safe.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings.
  • Startup, commissioning and troubleshooting of combustion and control systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and system.
  • Familiar with PLC and HMI basic functions a plus.
  • Testing, adjustment and replacement of defective or improper functioning circuitry and electronic components.
  • Assembly and installation of control panel systems.
  • Fabrication of electrical, pneumatic, gas and hydraulic pipe/conduit assemblies.
  • Maintain service reporting and documentation as required.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose burner related issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Install, commission, calibrate and adjust industrial burners for optimal performance.
  • Conduct safety checks and compliance with regulations.
  • Upgrade and retrofit existing burner systems for improved efficiency and emissions control.
  • Collaborate with engineers and facility managers to design and implement burner systems for specific industrial processes.
  • Remain up to date with industry standards and technological advancements in burner technology.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of combustion principles, control systems and safety protocols.
  • Advanced mathematics, science, and mechanical skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5+ years of experience
  • HVAC, combustion system, or related degree or certificate a plus
