Software Engineer (Hybrid)

We have an immediate need for a contract Software Engineer to join a global mass media and entertainment conglomerate. The Software Engineer will play a key role in the success of the newly built platform and application aimed at moving large amounts of digital content in a post-production environment. You will utilize your skills with React, Node, TypeScript, and NextJS as they further enhance features and move vendors and internal users to the platform. On a Cloud based platform, you will use your AWS experience and skills to ensure applications are designed to meet team and vendor needs. This is a highly secured environment that requires knowledge of application security but is focused on development and enhancement over security functions.

Location: Hybrid working 3 days onsite per week out of Glendale, CA but onsite is preferred.

This job expects to pay about $65 - 70 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with a team of software engineers and subject matter experts to build, test, and deploy software solutions.
  • Work with fellow engineers to create essential services/APIs needed for diverse applications.
  • Work with Lead Engineer to support the UI Implementation & co-ordinate with additional team for backend functionality.
  • Innovate & collaborate with the content security teams to provide safe, secure & reliable applications.
  • Troubleshoot ongoing & production support issues and implement defect fixes.
  • Work within an agile scrum process using Epics/User stories/Tasks.
  • Provide transparency with the delays/challenges across the project to Leads.

What Gets You The Job:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ Years of Software Development experience with an emphasis on React, Next, Node, and TypeScript
  • Advanced experience with cloud-based applications and using AWS as your primary cloud platform
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Serverless Technologies (Lambdas, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, Event bridge, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch)
  • Hands-on experience building large scale platform/enterprise solutions and developing enhancements, and working with a team to develop customized solutions
  • Experience working with applications dealing with large amounts of data (Terabytes) required, and experience digital transfer technologies ideal.
  • Proficient in working with Open APIs, API Gateway
  • Experience with Material UI, Event Driven Architecture
  • Database experience with Postgres or any other relational DB
