Compensation:$22 - $25+ hourly plus bonus, DOE
Responsibilities:The Legal Assistant’s main duties are:
- Manage office correspondence and administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, documenting client discussions, responding to emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
- Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals
- Greet clients warmly and escort them personally to their meeting location, ensuring they feel welcome and comfortable
- Undertake other administrative duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently
The Legal Assistant position requires the following skillset:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree is a plus
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a law firm or office environment as an administrative assistant or secretary
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Must be able to type at least 50 WPM
- Comfortable working with all Microsoft Office products
- Experience working in a customer service computer system
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Organizational skills and effective communication skills are necessary for this position
- Willing to learn new skills to assist with special projects
