Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, IT, the Director, IT is responsible for the overall planning and organization of the Information Technology operations within Steele Solutions ensuring the IT team efficient and effective technical support services that align with the company’s goals and objectives. Responsible for supporting the implementation of system-wide IT initiatives and day to day activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Development - Provides direct supervision and coaching to the IT team (Infrastructure and Help Desk engineers) across all sites. Evaluates and develops departmental goals, objectives, policies, procedures and process improvements.
  • Operational Excellence – Overseeing and evaluates Infrastructure and Help Desk daily operations. Monitors financial performance and adjust resources to maximize profitability while maintaining exceptional quality and service.
  • Communication - Effectively communicates expectations and responsibilities to team as well as ensures strong internal communication practices. Actively listens and addresses issues and concerns promptly.
  • Compliance Management - Ensures compliance with SSi guidelines and regulations.
  • Planning - Develops both short and long-term IT plans to include a timeline for sequencing and coordinating IT improvements, budget recommendations and immediate needs.
  • Security - Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss. Oversees IT security audits or investigations.
  • Business Partnerships - Establishes effective partnerships with leadership across the organization to ensure that technology solutions are effective and in alignment with functional and organizational needs
  • Process Improvement - Evaluates effectiveness, efficiency and costs of existing technology and systems. Researches new or alternative solutions and makes recommendations to senior management as appropriate
  • Vendor Management - Owns and manages all IT assets and SSI’s vendor relationships, ensuring the continuity and security of IT services across the organization. Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Education and Experience

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field or equivalent experience is required; MS/MBA is preferred
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in IT, including experience in IT leadership roles. Strong preference for industrial multi-site manufacturing experience.
  • Expertise in planning, budgeting, evaluation, and implementation of IT initiatives.
  • Must be knowledgeable of ERP/MRP systems, manufacturing management, and CRM systems.
  • Proven experience in effectively securing a business’s network against cyber threats, developing and executing a disaster/ransomware recovery strategy.
  • Strong experience working at the intersection of new Cloud-based systems and legacy systems.

  • Networking. Windows server 2016-2022, AWS, Azure
  • MSSQL 2016, SSRS
  • Microsoft Office 365, CRM, MRP software experience
  • Programming Languages: C#
  • Data Warehousing/ PowerBI
  • Latest Technology for IT systems and management
