Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAs our Founding Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction of our platform. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for both frontend and backend development, contributing to all aspects of our technology stack. You will be involved in implementing and perfecting AI models within the app, likely using Vercel's AI SDK. Additionally, you will work on expanding our PostgreSQL data warehouse and developing algorithms to enhance our vendor curation process. This is a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on a growing company and to work closely with the founding team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Frontend Development:
    • Build and maintain responsive and user-friendly interfaces using NextJS on Vercel.
    • Implement and customize Bootstrap CSS for a consistent and intuitive user experience.
    • Utilize Auth0 for secure user authentication and authorization.
    • Utilize Posthog for tracking user behavior and analytics.
  • Backend Development:
    • Develop and maintain server-side logic and APIs using Node.js and Express.
    • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in TypeScript with tRPC and Prisma ORM.
    • Expand and optimize our PostgreSQL data warehouse to handle increasing data complexity and volume.
    • Develop and refine algorithms to perfect our vendor curation process.
    • Implement Redis cache to optimize performance and scalability.
    • Integrate and manage AWS services including S3, RedShift, and Lambda.
    • Implement and maintain payment processing solutions with Stripe.
    • Maintain DocuSign for e-signature functionality.
  • AI Integration:
    • Collaborate on expanding our AI capabilities for user scope creation, bid leveling, and vendor curation.
    • Utilize Vercel's AI SDK to implement and enhance AI models within the app.
    • Continuously improve and optimize AI models for better performance and accuracy.
  • Collaboration and Strategy:
    • Work closely with stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements and deliverables.
    • Contribute to the development of our technology strategy and architecture.
    • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ Years of work experience.
  • Proven experience as a full stack engineer with a strong portfolio of web applications and projects.
  • Proficiency with frontend technologies including NextJS, Bootstrap CSS, Auth0, and Posthog.
  • Experience with backend technologies including Node.js, Express, TypeScript, tRPC, Prisma ORM, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS (S3, RedShift, Lambda), Stripe, and DocuSign.
  • Experience with expanding and optimizing PostgreSQL data warehouses and developing data-driven algorithms.
  • Experience or familiarity with Vercel's AI SDK and serverless environments is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members. English proficiency required.
  • Experience in a startup environment is a plus.
