Food Service Aide

SUMMARY

To provide assistance in all food service functions as directed and in accordance with established food service policies and procedures.

SUPERVISOR

Director of Food Service

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  1. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
  2. Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, which include but not limited to worktables, refrigerators/freezers, floors, carts, trays
  3. Perform dishwashing procedures. Assure utensils, plates, bowls, trays, etc. are readily available for the next meal.
  4. Assist in serving meals to residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  5. Report signs of poor intake to maintain proper nutrition and hydration levels.
  6. Maintain a safe work environment and exhibit safe work practices.
  7. Participate in training of new personnel.
  8. Exhibit knowledge of and effectively follow the emergency and disaster plans.
  9. Interact cooperatively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.
  10. Attend all required education training programs monthly.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of residents, family, employee and facility information.
  12. Accountable for information contained in the employee handbook.
  13. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner and performs other duties as requested by Administrator or Director of Food Service


REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required
  2. Requires frequent standing, walking, turning, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching and lifting to assist residents.
  3. Must be able to lift fifty pounds.
  4. Ability to operate office equipment.
  5. Alert and attentive to detail. Ability to remember names and places. Able to plan own work activities and manage multiple tasks. Residents always come first.
  6. Must present a neat, clean, professional appearance and demonstrate a positive, cheerful attitude towards associates and residents.
  7. Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers, residents, families and visitors.
  8. Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel.
