Data Engineer III

- As a Data Engineer you will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments.
- You will be developing and supporting the analytic technologies that give our customers timely, flexible and structured access to their data.
- You will be responsible for designing and implementing a platform using AWS services such as AWS EMR, Redshift, S3, Glue, Python, Pyspark, Git.
- You will work with business customers in understanding the business requirements and implementing solutions to support analytical and reporting needs.
- 7+ years of related experience.
- Very Strong development experience with AWS EMR, Redshift, S3, Glue, Python, Pyspark, Git.
- A good candidate has strong analytical skills and enjoys working with large complex data sets.
- Good knowledge of SQL
- A good candidate can partner with business owners directly to understand their requirements and provide data which can help them observe patterns and spot anomalies.
- Strong client Quicksight experience
- SQL skills
- Busy environment, need someone to be flexible.
- Though requirements are standardized and well defined, as the business changes a lot of adhoc requests come in, road map changes.
- Candidate should know they are going into a busy environment
- Newer AWS orgs build new data foundation for them
- Candidate will be helping build a successful data foundation
- Multiple projects within roadmap and need additional help
- Contractor will be helping reach milestone
- Two-week sprint process, (meeting includes: prioritizing projects / assigning tasks)
- Daily stand ups, update others on what happened day before, what will be done today and if there are any blockers
- Each day will be different, but for each sprint (working with stakeholders to understand what new data sources can be brought into data lake, create business requirements doc, create high level design, low level design, and implement)
- Routine for each and every source
- They operate completely within AWS environment, use next gen AWS services: EMR, Glue, Pyspark
- Building brand new data model from scratch
- Opportunity for candidate to run and explore data technologies and understand AWS services
- Leadership principle: Deliver results, Bias for action
- 7+ years of related experience.
- Very Strong development experience with AWS EMR, Redshift, S3, Glue, Python, Pyspark, Git.
- A good candidate has strong analytical skills and enjoys working with large complex data sets.
- Good knowledge of SQL 4+ years Good to have AWS solutions architectural cert
- Ability to code in Pyspark
