Position: Medical Billing Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing and coding, as well as a strong understanding of insurance and reimbursement processes. This is a full-time position with the opportunity for growth and advancement within our company.

Responsibilities:

- Review and process medical claims accurately and efficiently

- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials

- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility

- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and coding guidelines

- Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely billing

- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and insurance companies

- Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims

- Manage accounts receivable and assist with collections as needed

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding

- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding

- Familiarity with insurance plans and reimbursement processes

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is a plus
