Job DescriptionJob Description

Plumbers Supply Co, a family-owned business in operation for over 103 years, is currently hiring a Payroll/Benefits Specialist to join our accounting team.

Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 - 4:30 (with possible required overtime)(hrs can be subject to change).

Working under the supervision of the VP of Finance, the person filling this position is expected to do the following:
• Administration of bi-weekly payroll, attendance and benefits for all employees within the organization
• Administration of FMLA, Worker's Compensation, LTD, STD and other variables associated with employment leave
• Prepare and maintain employee files ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentially
• Respond timely and accurately to all garnishments, loan verifications, subpoenas and unemployment claims
• Administer 401K plan including monthly submissions, hardship withdrawals and annual audit
• Workers Comp submissions to Insurance Co and annual audit
• Report all claims to insurance company within 24 hours, determining which accidents are reportable
• Annual reporting (W-2s, Group Term Life for W-2s, OSHA injury logs, EEO report, DOL HC/Salary report, 5500 admin)

Requirements:
• A minimum of at least 2 years previous experience in payroll/benefits administration. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
• Effective communication skills, oral & written
• Active listening skills are important in this position, full attention must be given to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, ask questions at the appropriate times and not interrupt at the inappropriate times
• Ability to be self-motivated, organized, and easily adaptable for unexpected situations that might arise with employees or management
• Effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations
• Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly & monthly deadlines
• Maintain strict confidentiality as it pertains to all human resource issues and exhibit a high level of honesty and integrity
