Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work an eight hour shift five days a week and be available to work additional hours when necessary. Overtime may be required.
  • Perform routine and emergency building and ground maintenance, correction and prevention as assigned.
  • Clean and maintain floors through dust-mopping, buffing, shampooing, wet-mopping, spot-scrubbing and other procedures which are performed to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary agency environment and which prolong the attractive appearance and useful life of floor materials.
  • Clean and maintain agency bathrooms, showers, and washing areas at a level acceptable by licensing and accrediting agencies. Such activity will include, but not be limited to cleaning and maintenance of floors, walls, fixtures and equipment. Maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment which prolongs the attractive appearance and useful life of the materials involved.
  • Regularly collect and efficiently dispose of waste water and other waste products. Properly store waste materials between collection and disposal, and ensure the sanitary maintenance of such storage areas and containers. Responsible for proper compacting and containerization of waste materials prior to disposal.
  • Monitor and replace hand towels, toilet tissue, soap and other personal hygiene items in bathrooms and washing areas.
  • Monitor the level of supplies utilized in cleaning and maintenance of facility and request supplies.
  • Maintain and clean equipment utilized to carry out responsibilities.
  • Assist maintenance supervisor in necessary in-house repairs not requiring an outside source, i.e. changing filters, motors, painting, snow removal, grounds outside of building and other miscellaneous duties as they occur.
  • Inform Maintenance Supervisor of floors, walls, fixtures, equipment, etc., needing adjustment and/or repair.
  • Serve as a member of the Maintenance Team and participate in all team meetings and activities.

Position Purpose:

Our Facilities Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for repairing building interiors, fixtures, common areas, grounds and property exteriors in a manner that is consistent with all licensing, accreditation, local and state building codes, and company standards. This position will focus on the northern Illinois region with an emphasis on McHenry County and the Chicagoland region.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts

  • Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm with on-call for emergencies

Work Location: Rosecrance Crystal Lake, Rosecrance Chicago and Chicagoland sites, and all of Northern Illinois Region as needed

  • Must be able to travel between all Northern Illinois locations (work location can be flexible based on candidate's location)
  • Rosecrance Vehicle available for travel in between sites. This vehicle stays on-site overnight.
