Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will perform high-quality nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to established protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a state-of-the-art facility with opportunities for career growth and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with exam protocols, maintaining production and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients using AIDET principles to ensure correct exams are performed and to establish rapport.
- Prepare patients and the procedure area by positioning patients, adjusting equipment, and setting exposure factors.
- Adhere to safety requirements, infection-control, and radiation protocols to protect patients and employees.
- Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness, working with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operation.
- Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation, including patient history, consent forms, and procedural records.
- Ensure patient records are maintained in the appropriate system and in compliance with department policies.
- Serve as a preceptor, providing training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
- Take call when required and provide timely, accurate, and cost-efficient services.
Key Success Factors:
- Ability to perform high-quality multimodality procedures according to protocol.
- Strong communication skills to explain procedures and ease patient concerns.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations and effectively resolve issues.
- Knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement in patient care.
Qualifications:
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) or by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills for providing appropriate care across different age groups.
