SUMMARY

This IT role serves both ADAPT IT department and People Supported technology. In this role, the System Engineer is expected to ensure the stable operation and integrity of the agency’s data, telephone VOIP system, video, voice, and wireless network services. The System Engineer will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, cybersecurity monitoring and maintenance, and all infrastructure-related network components. In addition, the System Engineer will engage in projects related to implementing, maintaining, and managing technology at residents and day programs for People Supported. Lead the day-to-day operation of all people supported technology at residents and day programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for the IT DEPARTMENT

The duties and responsibilities of the System Engineer will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Proactively manage all servers and server operating system components; Active Directory, GC, DCs, server upgrades and updates.
  • Deploy and manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Deploy and manage physical and virtual servers and their associated operating systems and server-based application software.
  • Deploy and manage LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, Internet, UPSs, wireless access points, smartphones, tablets, telephone VOIP systems and other hardware.
  • Ensure consistent network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony and video equipment, and other network appliances.
  • Responsible for daily monitoring, maintenance and testing of data backups in support of business continuity, disaster recovery and data restoration capabilities.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for all network installations, including data, voice, and video systems.
  • Notify and update his supervisor of all equipment problems and document their resolution or system changes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR PEOPLE SUPPORTED TECHNOLOGY

  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and firmware upgrades for People Supported technology.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement efforts for People Supported technology.
  • Integrate different technologies for all people supported in residents and day programs.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory for People Supported technology.
  • Work with staff members on creating and maintaining SMART technology in all residential and day programs.
  • Supports the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of different technologies in all programs for People Supported.
  • Researches, develops, and maintains new initiatives in technology for People Supported.
  • Works closely with IT and Program Services division on new technology initiatives for People Supported.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information sciences, or related field and four years equivalent work experience.
  • Solid knowledge of Dell Enterprise Servers and EqualLogic and Compellent SAN.
  • Administrator-level experience with server operating systems, including Windows 2016 Active Directory, group policy, DNS.
  • Linux familiarity Administrator-level experience with Exchange 2016 and above
  • VOIP Telephone Solutions Experience with Microsoft 365 & Azure Active Directory and Infrastructure
  • Experience with server software including Barracuda Backup, Sophos, and Defender Anti-Virus.
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, Cisco IOS and SonicWALL devices.
  • Administrator-level experience with VMware ESXi, Vcenter server, virtual appliances and iSCSI and fiber communications.
  • Hardware support and troubleshooting experience Network design/assessment experience.
  • Practical understanding of routing protocols and networking fundamentals.
  • Preferred ** Experience with a NextGen EHR/PM/File maintenance/Quest interface solutions and workflow. Experience working with assistive technology.

COMPENSATION: $70,000 Annually + Industry-Leading Benefits
