Overview
Axle is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented Biologist to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Vaccine Research Center (VRC), NonHuman Primate Immunogenecity Section.

Responsibilities
  • Perform isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) according to GLP guidelines.
  • Support team members with tissue processing and assays as needed.
  • Prepare media and other reagents.
  • Cryopreserve, store, retrieve, and ship specimens.
  • Operate a variety of laboratory instruments including cell counters, centrifuges, controlled rate
  • freezers, and liquid nitrogen freezers.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare shipping documents.
  • Maintain accurate, daily records of experiments.
  • Plan and conduct complex experiments independently including:
    • Antibody titrations
    • Intracellular cytokine staining
    • B cell probe staining
    • Immunophenotyping
  • Perform QC on flow cytometers and acquire samples using DIVA software.
  • Conduct data analysis, prepare figures for publication, and present at lab meetings.
  • Train laboratory personnel on cell isolation protocols, FreezerWorks software, Cellaca cell
  • counter, shipping, controlled rate freezers and assays
Experience Required / Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Immunology, Biology, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) year of related experience is required.
  • Immunology and flow cytometry experience is highly desired.
