Full Steam Staffing is now hiring a Door Painter Prefinish in Chino, CA

Pay Rate: $22-23/ hr. DOE | Shift: AM

BASIC FUNCTIONS

The Door Painter Prefinishers is responsible for staining and/or painting doors, frames, and casing for customer orders to meet customer order dates.

Other functions include:

● Assisting in packaging.

● Maintain the organization and cleanliness and safety in the painting area.

REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Required: High School Graduate or GED.

Preferred: Same education as above, plus advanced trades school in woodworking or painting.

Certification:

● A forklift certification or working toward certification.

Experience:

● General work experience in wood pefinishing and painting techniques.

Skill, Knowledge & Abilities:

● Knowledge of use of hand held and mechanical painting apparatus.

● Knowledgeable with wood doors, door hardware parts and materials.

● Must be knowledgeable on the different characteristics of soft and hard wood and the affects pre-finishing and paint has on them.

● Some computer competencies will be helpful.

● Must be able to work independently.

Physical:

● Must be able to stand for an extended length of time.

● Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

Mental:

● Requires knowledge of general business mathematical skills.

● Language ability includes reading, writing, spelling, and the ability to clearly communicate.

Working conditions:

Painting and warehouse environment, exposed to fumes, heat, cold and moist conditions.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Door Painter Prefinisher reports to, and is accountable to the Door Prefinishing Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

● Performs pre-finishing duties including preparing surfaces for spray operations, applying stain and sealant, drying and bundling materials for shipping.

● Reads work orders and pulls needed materials to complete the job. Informs lead or management of material shortages.

● Inspects finished products to ensure workmanship and quality adheres to company standards prior to shipping.

● Oversees disposal of flammable, toxic chemical (rags and filters) and other debris per safety/ hazardous materials requirements; ensures that workshop is kept clean and orderly.

● Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices and oversees the activities of other employees in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
