Position: Corporate Counsel
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 5 Months

Job Summary:

The Corporate Counsel will provide hands-on legal counsel to the company, identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting key documents, presenting recommendations to management, and ensuring legal compliance across all business operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with renewable energy, energy services, oil and gas downstream services, or industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on legal counsel to various departments within the company.
  • Identify and analyze legal issues and present clear recommendations to management.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key legal documents and contracts.
  • Ensure the company's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Advise management on business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments and changes in legislation that may impact the company.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and coordinate external legal services when necessary.
  • Conduct legal research and provide legal opinions.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant business operations.
  • Train and educate staff on legal issues and compliance.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to a state bar in the United States and in good standing.
  • Experience in the legal field, with a preference for those with experience in renewable energy, energy services, oil and gas downstream services, or industrial clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with renewable energy, energy services, oil and gas downstream services, or industrial clients.
  • In-house legal experience is a plus.
