Job Summary

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud environment. This role requires in-depth knowledge of cloud services, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud architecture, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, with a strong emphasis on security governance and posture management.


Essential Functions

  1. Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud architectures using Microsoft Azure.
  2. Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations and improve efficiency.
  3. Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and scalability of cloud infrastructure.
  4. Implement and manage Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Active Directory.
  5. Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and disaster recovery.
  6. Establish and maintain security governance and posture, ensuring all cloud deployments adhere to regulatory and company security standards.
  7. Implement and manage Microsoft Intune for device and application management.
  8. Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services into application workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
  10. Provide guidance and support to other IT team members and stakeholders on cloud-related initiatives.
  11. Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies and Azure services.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • (K) Knowledge of database services such as Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Lake.
  • (K) Knowledge of understanding of DevOps practices and tools.
  • (K) Knowledge of networking concepts and experience with Azure Networking services.
  • (K) Familiarity with security governance and posture management.
  • (S) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • (K) Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Microsoft Azure.
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Azure DevOps Engineer are highly desirable
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune for device and application management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
