Celebration Health & Wellness is seeking a full-time Referral Coordinator to join our skilled and caring healthcare team.

Summary:

We are in search of an Referral Coordinator to join our dynamic practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a diligent work ethic, and the ability to work autonomously. As a Referral Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be securing all necessary prior authorizations for our practice, which encompasses 13+ providers across three office locations. This entails collaborating with health insurance companies, physicians, hospitals, and external facilities to facilitate referrals to specialists and ensure timely follow-up appointments. Previous medical office experience, and knowledge of electronic medical records are preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain prior authorizations for medical procedures and services.

• Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up appointments as needed.

• Maintain direct communication with health insurance companies, physicians, hospitals, and external facilities.

• Provide exceptional customer service and communication skills.

• Utilize EMR proficiently.

• Handle patient inquiries and concerns related to referrals and authorizations.

• Document and track all referrals accurately and efficiently.

• Coordinate referral appointments and procedures with external providers.

• Provide necessary documents to patients.

• Maintain electronic medical records, including scanning and associating relevant documents with referral orders.

• Reconcile incoming and outgoing referrals daily /follow up on pending referrals regularly.

• Manage task lists and emails daily.

• Collaborate with outside agencies to assist patients.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager to ensure smooth operation of the organization.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of basic medical procedures.

• Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems (AthenaHealth, NextGen /Health Fusion)

• Previous experience with insurance verification processes and related administrative tasks.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Critical thinking skills and a positive attitude essential.

• Good knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology

• Ability to work as a team player in a positive work environment / fast paced environment.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Schedule: 8 hour shift / Monday to Friday

Education:

  • Required High school diploma/GED
  • Preferred: Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification
  • A combination of education and experience may supplement education requirements.

Experience:

  • Customer service: 3 year (Preferred)
  • Medical terminology: 3 year (Preferred)
  • Computer skills: 3 year (Preferred)

Language:

  • English (Required)
  • Spanish (Preferred)

Work Location: On location / Celebration Office

Job Type: Full-time
