Job DescriptionJob DescriptionResponsibilities:

Shaping the culture of a growing School community.
Establishing high expectations for each new class of students.
Working as part of an entrepreneurial team to create policies, curricula, and instructional methods.
Planning a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
Creating a classroom environment conducive to learning.
Preparing lessons that reflect best practices and accommodations for individual differences of students.
Guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
Employing a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with best practices.
Assessing student learning in an ongoing manner and providing feedback.
Maintaining accurate student records.
Assisting the administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life.
Participating in all professional development opportunities, and maintaining open lines of communication with students, parents, and community members.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
New Jersey Teacher Certificate (K-6, K-8, or subject specific endorsement) OR Eligibility for Certification.
Ability to establish rapport with families and children.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Proficiency using computers, printers, copy machines, and fax machines.
Articulate, professional demeanor with strong self-confidence and initiative.
Possession of a passionate and loving attitude toward all children, and a sense of urgency to ensure every student gets to and through college.
Commitment to the vision, mission, values, and goals of school.
Willingness to be an active member of a professional learning community.
