Prime Home DDS, Inc. is currently searching for an energetic Special Education Teacher to become part of our team. As a team member, you will work with students with academic or physical challenges. Your main goal will be to identify their unique educational needs and support their long-term academic success. The perfect candidate should demonstrate qualities of compassion, creativity, and commitment to promoting student growth. The Special Education Teacher will lead the Education Services Program by planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the various offerings at Prime Home DDS.


Direct Reports: Educational Service Director


Schedule:

  • 8:00 am to 4:00pm
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

- Experience working in an education and/or community-based program for individuals with developmental disabilities.

- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.

- Must have a Valid teaching certification in Special Education.

- Required experience includes working in an educational and/or community-based program for individuals with developmental disabilities.

- A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field is essential.

- A valid Special Education teaching certification is also necessary. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Competence in assessing an individual's educational program and planning special interventions for medical, nutritional, or therapeutic needs as required.

- Proficiency in both oral and written communication is necessary to coordinate educational services, plan and allocate resources, supervise staff, provide training, prepare and monitor budgets, and make well-informed decisions.

- The ability to develop, implement, and evaluate goals and objectives to fulfill the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

- Employ normalization principles, the least restrictive alternative concepts, Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), fundamental behavior management, programming, and medication administration monitoring.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the Educational Service Director to evaluate the present and future needs of Education Services.

2. Offer a variety of training and services in Education Services for the target population.

3. Maintain adherence to all County, State, and Federal regulations pertaining to Education Services.

4. Engage in both internal and external program evaluations and investigations, including reviews of internal systems and CPS/APS Abuse/Neglect inquiries.

5. Play a proactive role in student intake to understand each individual's specific needs thoroughly.

6. Promote student participation in their own program planning and the oversight of Education Services.

7. Comply with all relevant legal requirements to uphold the human and legal rights of all individuals in-service programs.

8. Ensure that all staff members receive training in the essential skills for their roles and participate in ongoing education to enhance and refine services.

9. Manage education services efficiently to achieve students' IEP goals and objectives promptly.

10. Oversee the services' quality, encompassing client programs, financial management, facility maintenance, safety protocols, and other organizational systems.

11. Cooperate with other service providers to guarantee high-quality service for all clients and offer effective administrative support to managers, supervisors, and educational support staff.

12. Keep the Educational Service Director informed about significant matters related to the clients and the operations of Education Services.
