Position Description

This position helps with kitchen cleaning, organization, dishwashing, and light food prep tasks. People who are successful in this position are positive, self-motivated, reliable, and enjoy working with others. The Kitchen Steward works in our high-volume, non-profit kitchen called the 'Program Kitchen'. They are an integral part of the prep & service of approximately 600 meals per day for our fellow community members. This position primarily works 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, daytime hours. There are some exceptions to these hours, but they are infrequent & adequate notice is usually provided.

Qualifications

• Willingness and desire to learn
• Desire to move up in the kitchen

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen
• Help coworkers as needed
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain within the first 60 in the Kitchen Steward position
