Siema Construction is a small heavy highway/civil construction company for 20-plus years focused on commercial site work, hauling, concrete paving, and building foundations.

Job Summary

Concrete Walk-behind Saw Cutting Laborers will be responsible for operating a variety of concrete saws and coring equipment while also performing general labor duties in a safe and timely manner.

Job Responsibilities

• You must have hand-eye coordination, the ability to make accurate measurements, and the skills and knowledge to operate saws safely and effectively.
• Operation of road saws by walking behind the saw and while having knowledge of the proper set up of the equipment including the removal and securing of different size blades.
• Perform concrete cutting with the use of specialized road saw cutting, core drills, hand saws, and early entry saw operations while ensuring proper layout, depth, and alignment.
• Assist in sealing operations. Capable of running both hot and silicone sealant operations.
• Assist in structural concrete repairs, epoxy patching, epoxy injection, and other repairs as needed.
• Check, lubricate, refuel, and clean equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor
• Perform general labor duties along with general maintenance including setup and tear down.
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
• Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures.
• Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, as directed by the supervisor.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, while ensuring the safety of fellow team members and yourself during construction operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Will be required to work the day and night shifts along with the occasional weekend.
• Proficient in basic reading, writing, addition, and subtraction.
• Basic understanding of equipment and construction.
• Relies on instruction to perform tasks.
• Must possess a strong work ethic.
• Physical requirements:
  • Manually lift/carry 50-100 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Carry tools/equipment
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Perform all required tasks during extreme weather conditions (hot/cold)

Education/Work Experience

• Desired experience – 0-1 year of related construction experience.
• Concrete walk behind saw cutting and coring experience preferred.
