SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP:

ProNova Solutions, LLC is currently seeking a software engineering intern to join our team in the design, development, and support of complex, medical-grade controls for a leading-edge cancer treatment device. This individual will be paired with an experienced software engineer who will guide them in a challenging and fast-paced environment, where they will be expected to learn about and help integrate a large variety of technologies to deliver the most reliable, full-featured, and cost-effective proton therapy system on the market.


INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain working knowledge of at least one SC360 subsystem and identify potential areas of improvement
  • Collaborate with other personnel to ensure robust performance and a multidisciplinary approach
  • Implement and test assigned software updates pursuant to software requirements
  • Support integration testing with other control systems
  • Document completed designs and related procedures
  • Participate in system safety reviews

INTERNSHIP SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
  • Willingness to learn complex systems under the guidance of experienced software engineers.
  • Basic familiarity with one or more technology areas utilized in ProNova products. Examples of desired areas of expertise include:
    • Programmable Logic Controllers
    • Robotic control
    • Medical imaging
    • Networking
    • Database development
    • Cybersecurity
    • Real-time systems
    • Communications protocols
  • Previous exposure to one or more software development tools utilized in ProNova products, e.g. Microsoft C#/C++/.NET, MATLAB, python, LabVIEW, ladder logic.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
