About the role:
CoreWeave's customers are among the most innovative technology companies in the world and CoreWeave's role is to enable that innovation with our best-in-class hardware and platforms. For many of our customers, focusing on the boilerplate of distributed applications is a distraction away from their core business. CoreWeave's answer for this challenge is the Marketplace Team. Through platform development and application packaging, the Marketplace Team is able to enable our customers to have turnkey solutions to some of their most common operational challenges and instead focus on their core businesses. This team is responsible for platform development, test planning, orchestration, and any attendant integrations for a Kubernetes native software marketplace including the engineering of operators, CRDs, and Helm charts.
We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join the App Platform Team and help us with this critical mission. This individual will join a team of 6-10 mixed-skill engineers and have the opportunity to work on the full gamut of rewarding challenges that come with the business of building a cloud in a communicative, supportive, and high-performing environment. As a member of the Marketplace Team, you would have the opportunity to:
- Design and integrate a scalable, nimble, and reliable Kubernetes-native marketplace solution for turnkey application management in customer environments.
- Test, package, and orchestrate the CoreWeave first-class marketplace applications.
- Develop automated CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as ArgoCD, Flux, and Kustomize.
- Build monitoring strategies to understand marketplace application performance in the wild.
- Partner with the cloud team to integrate the marketplace into administrative dashboards and the customer UI.
- Work with the security team to ensure marketplace applications remain secure and compliant to new and existing audit frameworks.
- Create solutions for license management of licensed marketplace applications.
- Participate in the Marketplace Team on-call rotation and continue investments in automated detection, remediation, and analysis of problem states.
- Grow, change, invest in your teammates, be invested-in, share your ideas, listen to others, be curious, have fun, and, above all, be yourself.
Wondering if you're a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are some qualities we've found compatible with our team. If a portion of this resonates with you, we'd love to talk.
- You have five or more years of experience in a software or infrastructure engineering industry
- You have experience automating and operating services in production and at scale.
- You're familiar with "app store" or "marketplace" designs and can conceptualize the architecture of similar systems in multi-tenant environments.
- You have experience using Kubernetes and Kubernetes deployment tools such as Helm with a conceptual understanding of stateful orchestration patterns such as the operator pattern.
- You know your way around a Linux distro, shell scripting, and/or the Linux storage and networking stacks.
- You're interested in reliability engineering concepts such as the different types of testing, progressive deployments, error budgets, the role observability, and fault-tolerant design.
- You can transform problems in elastic architectures, decompose them into achievable tasks, and socialize both to your teammates.
- You're comfortable with a primary programming language (GO or Python, preferred.)
- You're excited about being part of a team of diverse perspectives and backgrounds that believe in tackling challenges, growing hand in hand, and winning together.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $170,000 in our lowest geographic market up to $210,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Hybrid Workplace
Successful candidates will be expected to attend onboarding training at our NJ Headquarters within their first several weeks of employment, with subsequent quarterly travel requirements of 1 week duration.
