Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer.  As a key member of the Executive Leadership team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the President and Chief Executive Officer and assume a strategic role in the overall operations of a private, not-for-profit Community Action Agency serving a six county area in Southeast Missouri.  The CFO will have primary day to day responsibility for financial decisions including evaluation and fiscal management of the agency's federal and state funded grant programs to ensure proper reporting and compliance.  


 Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and supervision of a fiscal team in accordance with the organization's  policy and applicable laws
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets and strategic forecasting
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions associated with a complex nonprofit with multiple funding sources including government (federal and state) contracts
  • Ability to recommend improvements to ensure organizational financial integrity



Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, Business or Fiscal Management Required; Certified Public Accountant Preferred
  • 2+ years in a people leadership role in an accounting setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Prior experience in a Community Action Agency setting is highly desired
