About the Position

  • Provide structural and foundation design for medium to large size engineering projects with minimum to no supervision
  • Produce accurate sketches of engineering details for efficient communication with drafting and design team.
  • Foundation design for spread footings, mats, drilled piers, driven piles, and pile caps.
  • Prepare accurate and complete designs and calculations as required to meet project requirements, applicable codes/ industry standards and produce calculation packages for client review.  
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and assist lead engineer to ensure effective quality product and produce calculation packages for client review.
  • Define and review scope of work, prepare engineering estimate at both proposal and design level and schedule for civil/structural engineering and design portion of work in a project.
  • Conduct field investigations when needed; produce field reports with detailed sketches; coordinate and direct drafting and design workflow to produce construction drawings.
  • Anchor bolt design for cast in place and post installed anchors.
  • Structural steel design engineering included welded connections, bolted connections, baseplates, and lifting devices.
     

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Prior use of STAAD or RISA design software packages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Exceptional time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving acumen.
  • Proactive and initiative-driven, anticipating client needs.
  • Authorization to work for any U.S. employer.
     

Education & Experience

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) not required but preferred.  Ability to acquire PE license a must.  
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of petrochemical project-related experience.
     

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods of desk work, including sitting and computer usage.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds when required.
