What you’ll do
The Director of Plumbing is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of plumbing operations, including planning, budgeting, and execution of projects. Responsibilities include:
- Develops and implements strategic PLUMBING segment plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services
- Plumbing segment includes the plumbing residential, commercial, and showroom channels.
- Pursue and develop new growth opportunities in the PLUMBING market
- Lead the sales team in setting ambitious sales targets to drive growth while ensuring the team's alignment with overall company goals.
- Oversee two (2) Regional Showroom leaders and 11 kitchen and bath showrooms
- Foster key account customer relationships.
- Lead big account hunting for plumbing (commercial and residential)
- Ride along with outside sales teams meeting existing and potential new customers.
- Develop and grow relationships with key PLUMBING vendors
- Monitor current contracts, agreements; develop new proposals and negotiate new long-term customer/prospect partnerships.
- Provide support to branch management and employees in growing their PLUMBING business
- Analyze branch sales and gross margin performance
- Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
- Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
Required for Success
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the plumbing industry, management, and team leadership, driving innovation and excellence in plumbing services.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 6 years of Distribution experience in the PLUMBING market
- Critical thinking skills
- Good coaching skills; ability to motivate
- High regard for customer service
- Strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
