- Communicating with patients and insurance companies on the phone
- Appropriately documenting and reporting payment information
- Educating patients about payment options and financial assistance
- Negotiating and strategizing patient payment arrangements
- Updating patient accounts and balances
- Going over insurance and costs of procedures with patients before admitting them to the hospital
- Making sure all the paperwork is in order and collecting forms such as prior authorizations if needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in medical billing or hospital admittance
- Knowledge of private and government insurance plans
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Working Knowledge of Processes for all major insurance carriers, intermediaries, Medicare and Medicaid strongly preferred.
